Fab Michael Stars Ad

I love this picture from a Micheal Stars ad I saw in Teen Vogue:
The model looks beautiful, and I like the look of a low-cut henley + tank + long charm necklace. Very natural, but still super sexy. Are there any ads you like? Lemme know, I love looking at them for inspiration. The purple shirt can be bought at www.michaelstars.com

Pillow Makeover

I am a firm believer in updating your look with accessories. Why not apply that to your home too? Here are some of my favorite decor items: throw pillows!

Very pretty...($50, Urban Outfitters)

I love this pillow! A big floppy bow in a beautiful lavender color over a deep plum pillow...and only $15! (Urban Outfitters)

This is a very simple yet modern pillow, it would look fabulous against a red couch or any other bold color. ($25, Target)

The brown detailing is beautiful, it would look fab (agh I'm being redundant) with a cream bedding set ($35, Target)

This picture isn't the greatest, but the cute "Scrapbook Pillow" from Delias is a cool, trendy piece to have in any room ($15)

The Shame!

Oh my god. I cannot believe I am associated with people who wear these atrocities:

<---umm, ew? Denim over red velvet? Ugly batik prints?

Crushed velvet stained with grass? Black ruffles across the chest?

Fred Flare is sooo rad!

Hey all! I know I've been doing a lot of site features lately, but I couldn't resist posting about the Fred Flare winter sale. They have the greatest stuff*, and a lot of it is marked down! Check it out:

I love this hat! The preppy green and pink houndstooth print, the fab little button, so perfect! And it's only $10!

These earrings are sooo pretty. They would look great in the summer with a simple tank top, or with any sort of ethnic prints. Plus, only $5!

These cameo earrings are gorgeous...can't you just imagine wearing them with a white lace dress or top? Again, only $5!

I say you can never have enough iPod covers (one to go to school, one pretty one, one rough and tough one, etc. Okay so I'm weird.) Why not splurge and buy one of these? Oh, whoops, did I say splurge? Not exactly, considering they are $3!

Your cell phone works hard. It organizes your life, lets you play games when your history teacher is droning, helps you screen that one creepy guy who keeps calling...doesn't it deserve a good night's sleep? Here to save the day is this adorable little cell phone bed. And look! The tiny pink slippers double as screen cleaners! $15

This isn't the cheapest thing around, but how can resist an awesome green shirt. The necklice is low, so it balances out the bagginess. And plus, there's a cute lil' apple! $27

*all these items can be found in the sale section of www.fredflare.com

Lip Gloss Mania

We all have our secret collections. I have several. But enough about me. For those of you with a hord of glosses behind the mirror (you know who you are!), these are some of my favorites:

These adorable cubes have two shiny colors. Buy a couple and stack them up on your vanity for a girly decoration. $9 at Sephora

I LOVE these glosses! The gloss is sheer and pretty, the built in brush is a fabulous applicator, and best of all...they all cost $1! Check out www.eyeslipsface.com for even more cosmetics at the same price.

Along with having 10 great colors, this lip gloss palette doubles as a credit card holder (you slide it in where the Feisty Kitten card is). What a great idea for small purses!

This lip gloss set is by Sugar (one of my favorite brands!), and has 12 delicious mini glosses, in great colors. It's also only $24, which is a pretty good price for such cool set.

This is just a cute little gloss set, for $6 at Sephora. Two lip glosses in one wand? Sweeeet.

*PB Teen*

Although PB teen is quite pricey, it's still one of my favorite sites to look at. They have the most amazing rooms, lighting, rugs and so much more, at great pottery barn quality. Although there are lots of bright colors and bold patterns, there are some neutral colors sprinkled in there for more sophisticated tastes. So no matter if you are 14 or 40, this site probably has something for you!

<---- This is my absolute DREAM room (except I would probably have it in a blue/green scheme instead). I love how the spacious bed is surrounded by shelves, and there is a small desk adjoining it. But, alas, I don't really have $4000 to spend on a room.

I love chandeliers, and this vintage blue glass one is perfect.

Somehow no matter how hard I try, my necklaces, bracelets and earrings all manage to get tangled in one giant heap. This beautiful silk jewelry box would be perfect for organizing them. Now if only it came with a diamond necklace from Tiffany's...

I've always wanted one of these cool vintage phones. Instead of hopping around with a plain cordless phone while trying to find my socks, I could sit down in a plush armchair, and elegantly pick up the receiver and say hello with a tinkling voice.

Nah.

Hearts and Sparkles

I just got home from school, and whoa, I'm just grateful it's Friday. With all the stress going on, there is nothing that cheers me up more than Valentine's merchandise. Yes it's tacky and a waste of money, blah blah. But how can I resist the hearts and sparkles?

I love cute stationary...and how much cuter can this little set be? These love notes will set you back only 6 bucks, and are from the ever fabulous Fred Flare.

I love how simple and comfortable this tee looks. A little pricey at $24 (Fred Flare), but you can never pay too much for prettiness.

Candles are a great way to have seasonal decor with the, uh, unsophisticated stuffed animals and tacky banners. This pale pink votive looks lovely all year round, and for $5 (Yankee candles) is also quite cheap.

Doesn't making Valentine's day cards remind you of first grade? Oh, the memories. This kit includes lots of supplies for making your own personalized felt cards, and is $12 at Etsy. All you need now is a class list so you don't forget anybody!

This bracelet is also at etsy.com, and is a beautiful charm bracelet with faceted dangling hearts. It's also handmade, so what are you waiting for?

Lastly, I found these adorable pink cupid pajamas at Old Navy, the kingdom of cheap and pretty things. They are all in stock (which is rare!) and only $15! Get some now before the Valentine's spirit is gone!

Need any details? Have a great find of your own? Comment now, I'd love to hear ya!

Gorgeous!

Words cannot express how much I am in love with these dresses from Anthropologie:

Oh, frocks divine, why must you tempt me so?

*Gazes dreamily*

Free Jewelry, woot!

I know this seems like a scam, but I've actually ordered from the Silver Jewelry Club, and loved my pieces. Basically, they have four pieces of jewelry on the page, and each in on there for 15 minutes. You have fifteen minutes to buy, but the total cost is only $6 with shipping. Considering it is sterling silver and real gemstones, it's a bargain! Check it out here. Also, below are some examples of the jewelry they have on the site:

P.S. Checking out the updates on the site is totally addicting!

Dreaming of Shoes

Yes, it will probably be years before I can afford these beauties. But after all, if I'm supposed to plan for college, why can't I plan for the wardrobe?

Sigh. Cheap flats from Old Navy will have to do for now.

Ways to Wear a Skirt

Ever find yourself admiring a beautiful skirt, but wondering how and when you would ever wear it? Believe me, I run into this all the time. After all, skirts are not exactly the easiest thing to wear while rushing to 4th hour Biology!

First of all, pick a comfortable skirt. Unless it's a very formal affair, you want something that isn't going to irritate you the entire day.

Example: This purple and gold skirt from Delias has a very nice shape, but the soft cotton and stretchy waist make it a great day skirt---->

Secondly, chose the footwear. The height of your shoe really depends on the length of your skirt. A mini skirt calls for flats, whereas a demure knee length skirt looks great with heeled sandals.

When you chose a top to go with it, make sure it doesn't overwhelm the skirt. Because most skirts are somewhat loose, a fitted top looks perfect. Cardigans, tees, tanks, etc. are all great options, just as long as there is no bagginess.

You've probably heard a lot about VPL's (visible panty lines for those of you not in the know)....don't forget them now! Thongs are great options, but with a looser skirt, boy-shorts are a great alternative.

Lastly, have fun with skirts! Don't be afraid to experiment, and don't be swayed by trends. Find what works with you and your body type, and as always, if you think fabulous, you look fabulous :-)

Delias? Oh my!

One of my favorite clothing companies, Delia's, just put up their new spring stuff. Here are so of my favorites:

<---- What a cute summer dress! I'd love to wear this casually with some flats...but in fall/winter I can also pair it with jeans and a cardigan! ($39.50)

This spring we are going to see a lot of light and romantic dresses, so I immediately thought of wearing this belt around the waist. It's leather, so it will toughen up the dress, but it's also a unique piece on it's own.

I am lusting after these sandals! The crochet piece is so cute and pretty, and the espadrille/wedge heel is low enough for me to wear during the day.
Hmm...maybe I should stop blowing that babysitting money on Reese's
peanut butter cups and iTunes.

I know we are getting into girly-girl territory here, but seriously. A pink and green plaid lace cami...for $5?? How can you not buy it?

Like what you see? Tell me if you have any good finds, or want me to search for something! And while you're at it, check out Delias. They probably have something for ya!
